While it’s been a while since you worked with J., we wanted to drop you a quick note.  His freshman year of high school was a homerun. 3.5 gpa, made the freshman basketball team and socially is as crazy as ever.  We can’t help but think you played a part in all this so wanted to share the positive news.  Fingers crossed we keep him focused, however a big thank you 12 months after the fact!

Our daughter's experience with Mimi through elementary and middle school has been critical to her success and self-confidence. Mimi is caring and understand and knows how to get the most out of her students. She has also been a tremendous resource in terms of providing insight into what it means to be dyslexic, making recommendations, and providing guidance navigating the IEP process. Mimi regularly communicated with our daughter's school and teachers to ensure everyone was on the same page and helped our daughter understand her dyslexia, feel smart and competent, and advocate for herself. My daughter started meeting with Mimi at the end of kindergarten. Mimi met with my daughter twice a week until the end of second grade. My daughter looked forward to her time with Mimi. She was engaged in learning with Mimi for the entire hour-long session. At the end of second grade, we took a break from tutoring. In fifth grade, my daughter was in need of tutoring again as the complexity of school increased. She met with Mimi twice weekly through fifth grade. We stopped tutoring again after fifth grade. Now, as she's entering seventh grade and is a super reader! Mimi has been an integral part of my daughter's success in reading and school. We know there may be a time when my daughter needs tutoring again and we are thankful to have Mimi as a resource.

My son had all of the signs of being bright throughout his early years of school, but he simply could not make any progress with his reading, despite efforts of his teachers and additional traditional tutoring. After getting a formal learning disability diagnosis the summer before 2nd grade, we found Mimi at Boulder Dyslexia Therapy. Mimi has changed his whole world! With just one year of tutoring, he went from reading at a mid-K level to a beginning 3rd grade level. Mimi is patient, committed, knowledgeable, and skillful. His enormous progress under Mimi's guidance makes me absolutely confident in the worth of the investment in her services. I cannot recommend her more highly to anyone looking for dyslexia support for their child.

When Children's Hospital in Denver diagnosed my son with dyslexia I was lucky to know Mimi Ward, a Dartmouth College classmate who now specializes in tutoring students with dyslexia. Mimi was articulate in her explanation of the disability and meticulous in her implementation of a program to help him overcome. Her exuberance for helping kids is second only to the patience she displays day-after-day. Regular sessions with Mimi made a huge difference to my son's reading and writing. After years of lagging his peers in elementary and middle school, he is now thriving in high school.
